DELE Exam Preparation Course
The Diplomas in Spanish as a Foreign Language (Dele) are the only officially accredited qualifications issued by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of Spain that are administered internationally. They are recognized worldwide by private companies, chambers of commerce and public and private educational systems. It is important to note at this point that their use is mainly related to educational and professional contexts.
Exams are administered nowadays in six levels, according to the degree of linguistic competence and the Common European Framework of Reference. This internationally recognised framework describes language ability in a scale of levels which ranges from A1 for beginners to C2 for those who have mastered a language. The exam is offered at three levels; inicial, básico and superior. To obtain the ‘inicial’ diploma, students require at least a pre-intermediate level, for the ‘Intermedio’ diploma, an intermediate level and for the ‘superior’ an advanced or superior level to begin the course. Upon successful completion of Intermediate or Advanced courses you can apply for the exam of the DELE Diploma Intermedio B2 or Superior C2. Successful completion of the superior level course awards, you pass the exam of the internationally recognized “Diploma Superior de Español como Lengua Extranjera” (D.E.L.E.: Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language). The exam consists of five elements: Reading Comprehension, Writing, Listening skills, Grammar and Vocabulary and Fluency.
